School Holidays

On Tuesday, on the last week of the holidays I went tobogganing, with my dad and some friends. To start off the day, I packed my bag full of warm and fluffy clothes, my gloves and my hat. I put my jacket on and waited for our ride. While I was waiting, I sat by the fire playing with my cat and watched some tv.

But when our ride came, I rushed out the door and jumped in the car. It was a pretty long ride, but I daydreamed through most of it.

Finally when we got to our location, I got out of the car and looked at the snow. It was really sparkly from the sun beaming onto the ground. So of course I had to pick it up and throw it at my dad, then he got some snow and threw some at me.

After going to the frozen lake and having a massive snowball fight, we got back to the car and had some food and water. Once we all finished we got back in the car and drove to a hill to toboggan down. I was so thrilled.

We all chose a spot that had an awesome drop at the end. I was the first up the hill. When I started using my hands to climb, I realized the snow was really icy so it kinda hurt my hands when they dug into the snow. But when I went down for the first time, I was really scared, especially when I got to the drop. THUD! I fell off the toboggan and landed on my side. It hurt A LOT! But of course I went up again and again and again.

After maybe an hour I decided to climb all the way to the top of the mountain with my dad, and then our friends joined in. My dad had to help me with some parts because the snow was really deep and I kept on falling in massive holes. But once we finally got to the top, I fell in the snow and sat there. It was so nice. A while later I felt really thirsty and grabbed some snow and ate it. It was pretty cold. Once we decided we should go back down, we sat down and slid all the way down. After that, my legs hurt a lot.

On the ride back home, I had a long nap.

  1. Hey Pru-dence! (I am not funny)
I really liked your post, you put the feeling of the snow in detail and it really made me feel like I was feeling the snow with you. It really made me picture what it looked like, you and your Dad always have lots of fun together.

    1. Thank you! The snow was really sharp and I got a few scratches on my wrists. I wish you were there, it was a lot of fun.
