Colouring in.

Yesterday was Hockey and Football zones, so most of Rimu went . But I play netball, so I stayed at school with a few people and finished some school work. Since it was zones, we didn't have to do maths. And I finished most of my work anyway, so Bree and I printed out some colouring pages.

It was so hard to choose a colouring page, because there were so many to choose from. But finally I chose one with a quote that I thought was cool. And I also loved all the flowers on the side.

Here is the page I used:

If you want to use this, I searched up 'adult colouring' and if you scroll down you should find it there.

How to work out division

Today for maths, I learnt an easy way to figure out division. I am new to working this out, so it might not be perfect. But here is a Screencastify, explaining an easy way to do division. It is called short division.

Also, sorry for the bad sound quality :)

Timetable

Last week we started using our own timetables. At the start of every day, we fill out our timetables and show them to a teacher. I've been really enjoying the timetables because, we can choose what we do and when we do it. Here is a screen shot of last weeks timetable:

Narrative Story

For the past two weeks, we have been creating Narrative Stories. I had a lot of fun doing this. I think planning my story challenged me because I wasn't really sure what to write because I had so many ideas.

We haven't finished just yet, so this is not a finished product. But here is what I have done:

The Missing Hat

The shimmering sunlight shining onto the tall dry grass, a nice warm breeze passing through. A young lady, called Kayla was having a picnic. She was wearing a short summer dress with a straw hat resting on her beautiful long blonde hair. As she was eating a sandwich, it became really windy and her beloved hat flew away to the other side of the slim grass.

Kayla rested her sandwich on her plate and searched through the grass to get her hat. She pulled back a clump of grass and found wild animals. Why would there be wild animals in the middle of a field? But Kayla still couldn’t see her hat so, she climbed through the grass to find even more animals. Zebra’s, Giraffes, Lions.

Suddenly, Kayla could here fast pacing footsteps coming closer and closer towards her. She looked to her right, and saw that a wild boar was charging at her, and it seemed to have a hat on it’s head. Kayla looked closer at the hat, it looked exactly like her hat. But there is no way to get it back.

Quickly, she jumped back through the dry grass to escape from being pushed over by the wild boar. She scurried back to her picnic spot, and sat down to catch her breath.

Then Kayla could hear rustling from the grass. She started creeping away from the grass. Suddenly, a ginger chicken came through the brown grass, with Kayla’s hat on. “What? A chicken?” Kayla said, with a confused look on her face. Kayla grabbed the hat off the chicken and put back on, and continued her picnic.

NYLD

On Tuesday, the YMS Student council went to NYLD (aka National Young Leaders Day). When we arrived, two people in onesies greeted us. We took a quick photo and found some seats in the arena.
We got some pretty awesome seats. We weren't close to the stage but no one was in front of us, so we could see. I had a lot of fun, the hosts were really funny. There were a lot of people that we knew. Aaron Jackson from Shortland Street and the band Nomad that sang the song 'Oh my my'. It was awesome to have Nomad there.

We did a lot of fun activities I had such a great time. We laughed a lot, listened to lots of cool stories, and I even saw someone that I haven't seen in years.  Here are some photos of our fun experience:
