Today, Rimu went to St Margaret's for a special event. Children and adults book awards! I was really excited to see some NZ authors, and learn about them and their books. When we got there, I wasn't really sure what this was, all I knew was that we were meeting NZ authors. But once we got into it, I realized we were just listening to the authors reading out a bit of their books and talking about themselves.
My favourite two were, Jenny Cooper and Leonie Agnew. I like Jenny Cooper because, I really like her drawings and all the facts she gave us that inspired me. And I like Leonie Agnew, because when she read the back of her book 'The Impossible Boy' I really wanted to read. And I love how she got the idea for the book.
Here are some photos of the event:
I'm so jealous!! It sounds like a great opportunity. Was it funny being back at St Margarets College?
ReplyDeleteYes it was, but it has changed A LOT from what I can remember! It was great to listen to authors that I've never heard of.
