Narrative Story

For the past two weeks, we have been creating Narrative Stories. I had a lot of fun doing this. I think planning my story challenged me because I wasn't really sure what to write because I had so many ideas.

We haven't finished just yet, so this is not a finished product. But here is what I have done:

The Missing Hat

The shimmering sunlight shining onto the tall dry grass, a nice warm breeze passing through. A young lady, called Kayla was having a picnic. She was wearing a short summer dress with a straw hat resting on her beautiful long blonde hair. As she was eating a sandwich, it became really windy and her beloved hat flew away to the other side of the slim grass.

Kayla rested her sandwich on her plate and searched through the grass to get her hat. She pulled back a clump of grass and found wild animals. Why would there be wild animals in the middle of a field? But Kayla still couldn’t see her hat so, she climbed through the grass to find even more animals. Zebra’s, Giraffes, Lions.

Suddenly, Kayla could here fast pacing footsteps coming closer and closer towards her. She looked to her right, and saw that a wild boar was charging at her, and it seemed to have a hat on it’s head. Kayla looked closer at the hat, it looked exactly like her hat. But there is no way to get it back.

Quickly, she jumped back through the dry grass to escape from being pushed over by the wild boar. She scurried back to her picnic spot, and sat down to catch her breath.

Then Kayla could hear rustling from the grass. She started creeping away from the grass. Suddenly, a ginger chicken came through the brown grass, with Kayla’s hat on. “What? A chicken?” Kayla said, with a confused look on her face. Kayla grabbed the hat off the chicken and put back on, and continued her picnic.

The House Story

THE HOUSE STORY Written by Prudence

One lovely summer day, a young pretty lady with blonde hair, blue eyes and red lips was on a jet in first class and her name is Lady Penelope. She was going to an island for a holiday because she needed a break from solving crimes as a detective. Penelope was enjoying her ride in first class because she got to watch movies and she got lots of free food and free drinks.

20 minutes later the jet finally landed at their location, Lady Penelope was very excited to have a break from solving mysteries. She got out of the jet and got her luggage (that she could carry) to the resort on the island and asked the strong bloke behind the reception desk for her room key. When she got to her room she unlocked the door and dropped all her luggage in the doorway and looked around and she said with a lovely sweet voice “This is a lovely room, also very sunny.”

After Lady Penelope finished unpacking it was time for dinner so she went to the Lone Star across the road from the resort to have dinner, and she ordered Barney’s Ribs and lemonade as the drink. Finally she finished her meal and she strutted up to the counter to pay for her meal. After that she drove back to the resort in a taxi because it was getting late and she was quite tired.

It was morning and it was very sunny outside so she decided that she should go for a stroll in the afternoon because she needs some air to get flowing through her lungs. After breakfast she went to play some mini golf and after that she watched a long movie and once the movie finished it was the afternoon and Penelope said “ Well I suppose that I should get moving, because I was going to have a stroll at this time so I should get a move on.” So Lady Penelope got in the suitable clothes on for the stroll and strolled onto the footpath in front of the resort and started her stroll.

Once she was strolling along she saw an old, grey house with broken window panes and the, weather boards on the house were falling off. The grass was brown and tall, it looked like no one has lived in there for years!

She walked up to the gate and the gate was stuck so, she pushed and pushed and eventually the gate opened with a creak as though it hasn’t been oiled in a long time.

She started to cautiously walk up the long gravel path to the house and she suddenly tripped over a long piece of grass and she grazed her knee and the gravel really hurt Penelope. So she got up again and as she walked along Penelope touched the grass and it felt very dry.

As she got closer to the house she could smell something strange in the air, it smelt like a fire. Lady Penelope wondered why she could smell a fire because there is no one living here. Or is there?

She went to twist the doorknob and she felt very nervous because she didn’t like the look of the house and something might jump out and scare her. The doorknob felt old and rusty.

Penelope opened the door and she saw a… short, grey, pale old man. With a very small voice he said “ Come my dear, I have dinner cooking and funny enough I have made dinner for two!” Penelope said sure but obviously she wouldn’t eat food from a creepy old man she didn’t even know. She strolled into the old mans house and sat down on the couch in the living room. Lady Penelope heard a big crunch, she lifted up the cushion and there was a fully grown adult skeleton and suddenly the old man came and stared at Penelope and quickly she put the cushion back to where it was.

“So what is your name?” The old man asked. Penelope said “Do you need to know?” The old man said.” Oh sorry, I just wanted to know. ( he sniffed) Oh that smells like dinner is ready. I’ll go get it.” Penelope looked around and saw that there was a fireplace and she thought to herself “So that is why I could smell fire.” Then Penelope carried on and looked around, eventually she got to the kitchen where the old man was getting the dinner but strangely he wasn’t in there so she nervously climbed upstairs to see if he was up there. As she was climbing up the staircase she could smell blood and then she looked at the walls and she saw blood dripping out from the ceiling.

Now Penelope got very scared.
